GuitarLoopsLive is an advertisement free site presenting live, seamless guitar practice loops owned and managed by Anne Coombs and William Withers. We discovered a need for a more exciting and easy way to break away from the stale, tablature method of practicing guitar solos. Anne, a guitar teacher and professional musician by trade noticed that many of her students were unable to create unique solos of their own based on common scale forms. William, one of Anne's students, was tied to tablature and found that he drew a blank whenever he became separated from his books. Likewise, he had no chance of being able to practice original solos without other musicians behind him to provide rhythm and back-up. Being a gear head, he brought his guitar looper to a lesson and had Anne record some background tracks for him. He found that the looper made for some improvement; however it was fairly inconvenient to use. (anyone want to buy a used looper?) Also, William wished to plug his guitar directly into his amp while playing the guitar loops through a separate sound source. We decided to produce a library of back-up tracks and jam loops that could easily be played through a stereo, computer or MP3 player. This proved to be a great success for us!
We have been so excited about producing and using these backup tracks and jam loops ourselves that we have decided to make them available to the entire music community.
